J. Randall Boyer graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Mr. Boyer was a senior editor with the Brigham Young University Law Review. He also wrote and published with the Law Review, worked as a teaching assistant to Professor Kristin Gerdy, and worked as a research assistant to Professors David Moore and Brigham Daniels. Mr. Boyer has since lectured on the paper he published while in law school.
Prior to joining Call & Jensen, Mr. Boyer worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Roger L. Hunt, federal trial court judge on the United States District Court for the District of Nevada. As a judicial law clerk, Mr. Boyer worked extensively on civil cases involving business and commercial matters, including breach of contract, securities, real estate, insurance, and fraud claims; employment disputes; class actions; and civil rights cases.
During law school, Mr. Boyer worked with the general counsel of an aerospace company assisting with the company’s acquisitions, intellectual property management, corporate compliance, and joint venture formation and disputes. Mr. Boyer also worked for an international trade law firm assisting in countervailing duties and diversion cases, as well as a communications law firm advising media and wireless communication companies.
Prior to law school, Mr. Boyer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brigham Young University. Mr. Boyer also worked for the software start-up company Qualtrics where he managed the online panel division of the company. Mr. Boyer is proficient in Russian.
Mr. Boyer is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts throughout California.
