Although Call & Jensen is a litigation boutique, associate compensation is commensurate with most national and international law firms. Call & Jensen’s goal for associates is 1800 billable hours per year. This target is lower than its larger firm competitors for some important reasons.

First, firms that demand burdensome billable requirements risk associate burnout. Call & Jensen wants to avoid this. The goal is for associates to have thriving and sustainable practices where they can spend their entire careers at the Firm.

Second, a firm that preaches efficiency but imposes oppressive billing requirements is in conflict with itself. By having a lower billable requirement, Call & Jensen associates are relieved of the implicit pressure found at other firms to bill unremittingly.

In addition to merit-based bonuses, Call & Jensen also pays bonuses for the generation of new business.
