At Call & Jensen, Melinda Evans has had a diverse litigation practice defending various intellectual property, employment, real estate, and civil rights cases, including several class actions. Much of her recent cases and consulting work have been in the areas of fashion copyright, wage and hour disputes, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
In the course of her litigation work, Ms. Evans has taken the lead on numerous appeals and post-trial motions, resulting in more than 10 published opinions in federal and state courts, several orders for new trials, and numerous advantageous settlements-in one case, settlement for less than 1% of the damages awarded by the jury.
Ms. Evans’ work has been repeatedly recognized by Super Lawyers, which has named her to its annual Rising Stars list of top up-and-coming attorneys in Southern California five separate times.
Ms. Evans received her J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she received the Lawrason Driscoll Moot Court Award and served as president of the moot court board. Prior to receiving her law degree, Ms. Evans taught college writing and literature courses in England, Massachusetts, and Utah. Ms. Evans holds a B.A. and M.A. in English from Brigham Young University.
